Gout Relief - It is Time to Leave the Pain Behind

It's the midnight and the whole world is sleeping. You are drowsy in a peaceful slumber, when suddenly an acute jolt of pain in your joints makes you shout in the sleep. You wake up and wonder what happened. You find that your big toe is swollen and red and even a short walk to the toilet become terrible. What has happened suddenly you surprise? Well, this is nothing but gout which is a common form of arthritis that occurs when crystals of uric acid get accumulated in the joints. The pain of gout is unbearable, no doubt, however, gout relief can be achieved through the use of natural home remedies. Let's take a look at just a few of these remedies.


Cherries: Cherries are known to be power bombs that have the ability to relieve gout pain. Cherries contain anthocyanins which help in lessening the disturbing and infuriating pain caused by gout. You can either eat cherries or drink the unsweetened juice from them. Dried cherries also work well as remedies for gout.


Apple Cider Vinegar: ACV (taken orally or applied topically) has been shown to reduce gout pain and swelling. Mix 2 teaspoons each of ACV and raw honey in a glass of water and drink after meals. To use topically, simply soak the affected joints in apple cider vinegar.


Charcoal Bath: In a bowl or basin, Mix 1/2 cup of charcoal powder in warm water until it forms a paste. Now put your affected area into the basin and pour tepid water until the affected area is submerged. The area should be soaked for thirty to sixty minutes.


Cold Compress: Wrap up the ice cubes in a towel or an ice pack and apply it over the painful joints. The compress should be placed on the area for 15 minutes maximum, and should be removed for 15 minutes before repeating the process. It will help alleviate the pain for sometime and decrease inflammation of joints.


Epsom salts: Soak your feet in Epsom Salt if the pain is concentrated in the big toe. Put 2 to 3 tablespoons of Epsom salt in a basin/ pan of warm water big enough to put your foot or feet in for about 30 minutes. Read instructions given on the package.


Besides these above mentioned remedies of getting pain relief from gout, the other remedies one can use is drinking lots of water. It helps to flush out excess uric acid and prevent kidney stones. Furthermore, try to avoid alcohol as alcohol consumption increase uric acid production in the body. These remedies could be what you need to get gout relief naturally without changing "everything" in your life!
