Gout Relief - Here Are Some Tips That Can Provide You With Some Gout Relief

Gout Relief is the only thing that anyone suffering from a gout attack can think about. It is very difficult to perform everyday tasks, such as working, walking, etc. when you are in excruciating pain from a gout flareup. Below are a few home treatment remedies for gout that you should consider.

1) Here is a home gout remedy that has been around for a while. Mix mustard powder with flour and water to form a pasty mixture. Place the mixture on the affected area overnight. Try to keep the affected area elevated while the mixture is on it. If the affected area is your foot, place a sock over the paste.

2) Drink two ounces of apple cider vinegar twice a day.

3) Try flaxseed oil. Recent studies suggest that flaxseed oil may prove beneficial in gout prevention or to help during a gout attack.

4) Apply ice to the affected area. Do this with an off/on rotation. Put ice on for 30 minutes, then remove it for 30 minutes. Then put the ice back on for an additional 30 minutes. Do this ice 'rotation' a few times a day for a couple of hours.

5) During a gout flareup, eliminate foods that are high in purines from your diet. These foods include shellfish, organ meat and red meat. After the attack is over, re-introduce these foods gradually to ensure that they don't cause another immediate flareup.

6) Eat cherries to help with gout relief. If you cannot find fresh cherries depending on the time of year, drink cherry juice. Don't overdo the cherry juice as it could cause constipation.
